Kenya.  Elizabeth Guama:  I had decided to close my business at the end of March 2024. One day my course instructor called and asked me to join the MBS course; I told him I was not interested in studying since I have never utilized the other training I had. In March, as I was waiting to close the shop I asked my instructor to send me the course link and I started studying.

I was awed by the content of the course and I felt that it was addressing the current problems in my business. From December to January I had hired an employee to sell in the shoe shop while I visited towns on market days to sell my shoes. I realized that since I paid her a salary she was not aggressively working to make sales; hence, I fired her in January and decided to stay in the shop. While at the shop, I started studying MBS and it awoke an interest in me to improve my business. I then started buying quality 2nd hand clothes and displaying them in a verandah outside my shop. Clients came and they started buying the clothes and also telling me of their preferences. I noted them and started working to provide them.
