Starting a Business with Small Resources
Angola – Cláudia Felizarda Chacuiva Chimoco, I have a degree in Economics and Management from the Jean Piaget University of Angola. I met the MBS course through Ambassador Pascoal Catiavala in his social networks and, at the time, I had just gotten married and the COVID-19 pandemic was devastating the world. I was very interested in taking the course and I registered for the online training.
Throughout the course I learned a lot, and with the feedback from other students from other countries, I realized that we can start a business using the small resources that we have. During the time of my MBS training I became pregnant and, due to the pandemic, I was not supposed to work outside the home. So I decided to open a business selling various articles (men’s t-shirts, hats, scarves for ladies, slippers, women’s underwear etc.) Thank God and using the tools I learned in MBS and with the constant help of my husband I got good results at the beginning of my business. So far, one of the greatest challenges has been purchasing some products, because the prices are very different. Today I am grateful for all that I have learned, because with MBS I learned about the benefits of serving my community and I have increased my savings – I always save a coin or two. I have decided to improve my business by selling my products in a store, in which I will be a partner with another marketer. May God bless your beautiful work.
