Honduras. My name is Glenda Patricia Cabrera; I am a 48-year-old married woman with 2 beautiful daughters. The Lord has allowed me to have the opportunity to take care of other 4 nephews that are like my children. I have incorporated them in my business so that they start learning about running businesses. I have worked in different places and God willing; it has allowed me to learn from every home. There is no limit of age to keep learning, I hope to become a businesswoman so the day that I am gone I can leave my children with a valuable gift, not only with financial gains but also knowing how to become an entrepreneur.
My experience receiving this certificate has been very beneficial and full of blessings. From the moment I signed up I got a scholarship. I can honestly say I was very ignorant in this area of learning a business. I thought that it was a matter of saying to the customer, please buy this from me. Now I realize that it is about having a convincing process and about treating our clients with respect. Even more than that, is about treating us with respect by respecting our business. I learned that we can’t rob our business by not paying for what we consume or use. My biggest example of overcoming hardships is my mother. She has been a single mom with 11 children that never had the support of her partner or her family. But she never gave up. She kept moving forward, to the point that she has helped her 8 children become good people without the help of a man. She showed me it was not necessary to have a man by your side to keep moving forward. She has proven to be someone strong and worthy to follow. She is an 81-year-old woman now, and she teaches us every day about persevering. She wakes up at 5 am every day, she is really a force to be reckoned with. We laugh because all of our family got COVID, except for her! She would take care of us while we were sick. She is truly our hero, and that is who I would like to be, with an insatiable energy. God bless you my elderly Mother.
