Honduras. Ambassador Jonathan Rodriguez led his youth group in a community service project, cleaning and cultivating a municipal nursery in his community. Many students participated and shared their thoughts about the project as well as the MBS program. One of the students commented that through community service, students and future professionals like them reflect a positive image to society. “Community service is very important, it’s good for people.” He explained how much he had learned through his MBS studies, especially about the Quality of Life Plan and the importance of saving regularly, which he had never considered before.
“Finances, family, [service], each of the points is so important to put into practice in order to be successful people. We learn to have a spirit of saving, so that later on we depend on ourselves and not on other people. We can start saving now and with time we will have a good amount and with these savings we can start and execute a microbusiness.
Another student expressed her gratitude to everyone who made it possible for the MBS program to reach them. “Our country is a country of scarce economic resources and that is why we are here in a public school but the fact that we are in a public school allows us to participate in a program like this and I know that someday we will be successful people thanks to the support they gave us.”
Her friend added, “I hope it’s not just here in our country but in different countries around the world so that other young people can learn about this training because it helps each one of us so much.”
