Haiti. “My name is Emmanuel Paul. I am from a rural region of Haiti. I completed my studies in Food Science and Technology in 2016. I co-founded a corporation in 2016 that works with farmers and rural women on agro-entrepreneurship and agro-processing to create added value on farms in northern Haiti. I discovered a Facebook posting describing the “Master in the Street” course in October 2019, and I quickly grasped the opportunity.
I love doing business and training rural women on agro-entrepreneurship but, I didn’t have a theoretical basis to best teach them. In the beginning, I progressed very quickly and with great ease. It makes you want to learn and go fast. With some delays due to the lack of electricity and internet in my village and the socio-political and economic unrest in my country in recent months, I finished the course with a lot of determination. Throughout the course, I tried to put into practice all of the things that I learned. I worked more, I saved more, and I spent less. At the end of the course (mid-January 2020) I started my own business with my savings. This course gave me a better understanding of business and more efficient tools to better management of the quality of family life in relation to the resources that I have available in my community. This course allows me to live better whether it be in my community or within my home.”
